Cosmic Tarot

5 of Wands Lately, interesting tarot packs have come from Germany. One of them is Norbert Lösche's Cosmic Tarot. It is sort of a science fiction deck, and Lösche states in his short introduction, that his intentions are to make old knowledge accessible and understandable to as many as possible by using as few symbols as possible. What he intends is, that people shall be able to grasp the meaning without any prior knowledge of astrology, kabbalah etc.

II - The High Priestess Lösche's deck generally takes place in a lost- a modern- and sometimes even a future world. Several of his drawings are nostalgic and depict reminiscences of a bygone era. Take, for example, the five of wands, which, with an air of forgotten ages, depicts two young men fighting, Otherwise Lösche's picture world is mingled: young modern girls are mixed with figures from the Arabian world, belly dancers, camel drivers etc. Some cards are nearly surrealistic, like the three of swords. From the eyes of several court card characters are beams stretching out into the universe (or is it vice versa?)

XXI - The World The artwork is professional and the pictures are fascinating. I quite like this deck, and I believe it will be placed in the category of popular decks.
