This is a bit of a departure from
Osvaldo Menegazzi's decks seen in the past. While returning to his
earliest deck theme of Shells
- Le Conchiglie Divinatorie -
the long out of print Trump set of shells painted
in oils, 1975). With this latest offering,
Osvaldo collaborates with photographer Chiara Galliano and together they share a vision of Black & White
contrasts; lights and shadows that give these lovely shells added meaning and nuance.

the very light is the star of this new work; light that is hidden among ripples of shells; light
that floats in the background ~ surreal and metaphysical; light that draws and that forms...
Osvaldo continues to be deeply affected by the uniqueness of shells; both for their beauty and structure
and also because they represent a transition and connection between nature and
art. Shells have long been collected and have painstakingly been captured by the
artist's eye throughout the centuries. And in this way Master craftsman Osvaldo Menegazzi is projected once again
into another era by sharing corners of the curious history of art.
The handsome, sturdy gift box that accompanies this deck has a title card affixed on top with thick
cardstock, giving it a nice, dimensional appeal. It includes the finishing touch of Osvaldo's signature hot wax
seal. This deck became available in early 2012.
