Eight of Cups - Escapism
Two young lovers, hiding under a blanket, escape into the dusk. A clergyman and
the Holy Grail, hosting a human skull, suggest elopement or a defiant decision
to leave traditional roles behind. Each generation must create new codes to live
by.
Meanings:
Living in exile. Escapism. Leaving the past behind. Abandoning a situation of disappointment or
disillusion. A desire to leave material success for something higher. The quest for the meaning of life.
Reversed:
It could warn of escapism in the form of substance addiction or other means of obsessive distraction.
