Ferdinando Crippa I Tarocchi
This popular deck by Ferdinando Crippa, stylishly reprinted by il Menegello in 2016, is the first publication since the artist's passing, three years ago and includes a short bio written by his brother, for whom he’d created this impressive work back in 1978. Osvaldo's family is close friends with the late artist's brother, Giuliano Crippa, who also happens to be the Italian President of the IPCS, (International Playing Cards Society). The cover of the leaflet has a handwritten, limited edition number (for 700 sets printed). The artwork is sophisticated and sexy while the slender cards fit comfortably in the hands, having a soothing, sensual look and feel. Would be a great reading deck if one is mindful of the delicate quality of thin cardstock. The Major Arcana and Court cards include clever details with faces of subtle, often wry expression. Though they are not titled or numbered, it is easy enough to detect their position in the pack. The Pips are elegantly rendered with fresh nuance and charm and the two-piece box makes a chic presentation for this special offering. Sixteen cards from this cool deck shared below.
